When Eco Cheeks started, it wasn’t about selling toilet paper. It was first and foremost an advocacy about questioning what we were accepting as normal and choosing to do better, even if that meant starting small. Long before it became a brand, it was about making safer, more thoughtful choices wherever we could.

From the very first roll, sustainability and community have been at the heart of everything we do. Our goal was to create everyday essentials that felt good to use and quietly did good behind the scenes, raising awareness, asking better questions, and proving that everyday products could be safer and more considered.

Five years on, those small, everyday choices have added up to something we are incredibly proud of.

Saving Trees, One Roll at a Time

Traditional toilet paper relies heavily on virgin tree pulp, contributing to deforestation around the world, including pressure on native forests here in Australia.

Eco Cheeks toilet paper is made from 100 percent bamboo, a fast-growing grass that regenerates without replanting. That simple material choice means fewer trees are cut down for everyday bathroom essentials.

Over the past five years, based on the number of toilet rolls sold and using an average of 800 toilet rolls per tree, Eco Cheeks has helped save an estimated:

1,561 trees

That’s thousands of trees left standing, continuing to clean our air, support wildlife, and protect ecosystems.

 

Trees Planted Through Giving Back

Avoiding harm is important, but we believe giving back matters just as much.

From day one, Eco Cheeks committed to donating a portion of every sale, not just profits, to environmental and community partners. One of those partners is Greenfleet, an Australian not-for-profit restoring native forests and protecting biodiversity.

Through donations made over the past five years, Eco Cheeks has helped fund the planting of:

1,454 native trees

These are not commercial plantations. They are biodiverse, legally protected forests designed to restore habitats, lock away carbon, and support Australian wildlife, including koalas.

Carbon Offset Shipping with Every Order

Every Eco Cheeks order is shipped carbon-neutral. For each delivery sent, we make an additional donation to Greenfleet to offset the emissions created through shipping. These offsets support native tree planting projects that lock away carbon for the long term.

Over the last five years, Eco Cheeks has helped offset approximately:

115 tonnes of CO₂

This means your rolls arrive at your door with their carbon footprint balanced out, without you having to do anything extra.

Reducing Plastic Wrap, Roll by Roll

Plastic packaging is one of the most overlooked waste problems in bathroom and kitchen products.

Conventional toilet paper is often wrapped in layers of plastic. At Eco Cheeks, we offer plastic-free and minimal packaging options, including our naked rolls.

For every 8 toilet rolls, approximately 0.35 square metres of plastic wrap is avoided from entering landfills and polluting the environment.

Based on total rolls sold, Eco Cheeks has helped prevent an estimated:

73,999m²

 

Giving Back to Community Causes

Environmental impact is only one part of the picture. Supporting people matters too.

Since launch, Eco Cheeks has donated to our charity partners, including Greenfleet and the Starlight Children’s Foundation, helping support children and families when they need it most.

So far, we have donated:

$33,450

And that figure does not include the many local organisations, fundraisers, and community groups we have supported over the years through product donations.

Because sometimes the most meaningful impact never shows up on a spreadsheet.

We don’t believe sustainability has to be perfect. It just has to be honest.
