Our Impact Stats Methodology

How do you calculate “Trees Saved”?

We start by adding up all the toilet paper, paper towel and tissue products we’ve sold and converting that into the total amount of paper used in grams.

From there, we use a conservative industry estimate of around 800 standard toilet rolls per tree, based on average roll weights and published forestry data.

In simple terms: it shows how many trees would have been needed if we’d used traditional wood-based paper instead of fast-growing bamboo.

No exaggeration. Just real-world maths.
How do you calculate “Plastic Avoided”?

Most conventional paper products are wrapped in plastic. Ours aren’t.

So we estimate how much plastic would normally be used to wrap toilet paper, paper towels and that little plastic window in tissue boxes - then multiply that by how many products you’ve helped us sell.

That is how we get a realistic estimate of how much single-use plastic has been kept out of landfill (and oceans)!
How do you calculate “CO₂ Saved”?

Our carbon impact has two parts:

1. Manufacturing savings

We compare the carbon footprint of bamboo paper to traditional virgin wood pulp paper using published lifecycle data (including transport and processing).
This shows how much carbon is avoided by choosing bamboo over trees.

2. Shipping offsets

We offset the carbon from delivering your orders through our partnership with Greenfleet.

These offsets are added to our manufacturing savings to give our total CO₂ impact.

So it’s about reducing emissions where we can and offsetting what we can’t.
What does “Cradle-to-Gate” mean?

It’s a fancy term for a simple idea.

Cradle-to-gate measures a product’s environmental impact from raw materials through to manufacturing and distribution — before it reaches your door.

It’s one of the most widely recognised ways to fairly compare products.
How do you calculate “Trees Planted”?

We plant trees through our partnership with Greenfleet, who run large-scale native reforestation projects across Australia.

Whenever possible, we use Greenfleet’s official reporting.

Where needed, we use their published guide of around $10 per tree planted.

Either way, these are real trees, in real places, doing real good.
How do you calculate “Money Donated”?

We donate a portion of every sale to our charity partners, including:

  • 🌱 Greenfleet (reforestation and climate action)
  • 💛 Starlight Children’s Foundation (supporting seriously ill children)

Our donation totals are based on verified financial records.
How often are your impact numbers updated?

Every month.

We update our figures using verified sales so your impact grows in real time as our community grows.
Are these figures independently verified?

Where possible, yes.

We use third-party data from organisations like Greenfleet and published lifecycle studies.

Internally, we keep our calculations conservative and transparent - because trust matters more than flashy numbers.
Why do you use estimates instead of exact figures?

Because sustainability isn’t simple.

Supply chains, manufacturing methods and transport routes all vary, and no brand can measure every variable perfectly.

So responsible brands use evidence-based estimates instead of pretending to be exact.
