Changing the world probably isn't the first thing on your mind when you're changing the toilet roll.
Fair enough. It's toilet paper. You use it, flush it, and replace the roll without giving it much thought. But that's also exactly what makes it worth thinking about.
Toilet paper is something we use every single day, year after year. And when an everyday habit happens across thousands of households, even a seemingly small change can start to add up.
That's been the idea behind Eco Cheeks from the beginning: take something people are already buying and find a better way to make it. Not perfect. Better.
And those little choices have already added up to something pretty meaningful.
Our Mission: A Commitment to Sustainability
At Eco Cheeks, our goal is straightforward: to provide top-quality, eco-friendly tissue paper products that make a real difference. We believe that even small choices, like the tissue paper you use, can lead to significant environmental benefits.
That’s why we’re dedicated to creating products that are not only healthy for you, but also help preserve what nature has gifted us.
Why Does Eco Cheeks Use Bamboo?
Conventional toilet paper typically starts with trees that can take decades to mature before they're harvested, pulped, processed, and eventually turned into something we'll use for a few seconds before flushing away.
That never made much sense to us.
It's why Eco Cheeks toilet paper is made from 100% responsibly sourced, FSC-certified bamboo instead of virgin tree pulp.
Bamboo grows incredibly quickly and regenerates after harvesting, making it a renewable alternative for a product we're constantly replacing. It's tree-free, naturally strong and soft, and allows us to make an everyday bathroom essential without relying on slow-growing trees.
One roll might seem insignificant. Thousands of households choosing differently? That's where things get interesting.
Why Is Eco Cheeks Toilet Paper Unbleached?
Somewhere along the way, bright white became the colour we expect toilet paper to be. But toilet paper doesn't naturally come out of a plant looking brilliant white.
Conventional paper products typically undergo bleaching and additional processing to create that familiar appearance.
At Eco Cheeks, we'd rather skip an unnecessary step. Our bamboo toilet paper is unbleached and made without unnecessary fragrances, dyes, or harsh chemical bleaching.
That's why our rolls have their natural beige colour. They don't need to be bright white to do their job, so why make them that way?
What Does Carbon Neutral Delivery Mean?
Getting an online order from us to your bathroom creates emissions, and we don't think sustainability should stop once a box leaves the warehouse.
That's why Eco Cheeks partners with Greenfleet to offset emissions associated with our deliveries through native reforestation projects.
Greenfleet's work helps restore native forests, capture carbon, create wildlife habitat, support biodiversity and improve the resilience of Australian ecosystems.
It's part of taking responsibility for the whole journey of our products, not just what they're made from.
Does Eco Cheeks Give Back?
Yes. From the beginning, we wanted Eco Cheeks to have an impact beyond the products we sell. That's why 2% of all sales, not just profits, are donated to Greenfleet and the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Greenfleet supports native reforestation and ecosystem restoration across Australia and New Zealand, while Starlight helps bring joy, laughter and connection to seriously ill children and their families.
Every order contributes. And as Eco Cheeks grows, so does what we're able to give back.
So, What Has All of That Added Up To?
This is the part we're particularly proud of. As of July 2026, the Eco Cheeks community had helped:
-
- Donate more than $50,000
- Save more than 2,100 trees
- Plant more than 1,400 trees
- Avoid more than 100,000 m² of plastic
- Save more than 150 tonnes of CO₂ emissions
And those numbers haven't stopped there. Our impact continues to grow with every order, so rather than leaving you with figures frozen in time, you can see our latest impact results and exactly how we calculate them on our Our Purpose page.
What Happens Behind the Scenes?
Sustainability isn't only about bamboo and cardboard boxes. The choices behind the scenes matter too.
Our bamboo is FSC-certified, helping ensure it's responsibly sourced and managed.
We work closely with manufacturers that hold certifications including amfori BSCI for social responsibility, ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management.
Eco Cheeks also operates as a 99% paper-free business, using digital invoicing and communications wherever possible to minimise unnecessary office waste.
They're not necessarily the parts of sustainability you see when your toilet paper arrives at the door.
But they're part of making sure the values on the box extend to the way we operate behind it.
Can One Small Swap Really Matter?
One toilet roll isn't going to save the planet. But that's not really how everyday change works.
One household chooses bamboo instead of virgin tree pulp. Another avoids plastic packaging. Another order contributes to native reforestation or helps support seriously ill children and their families.
On their own, they're tiny decisions. Together, they've already added up to thousands of trees, tonnes of emissions, huge amounts of avoided plastic and tens of thousands of dollars donated.
That's the kind of maths we like.
Small Swap. Bigger Picture.
We started Eco Cheeks because we believed something as ordinary as toilet paper could be done differently. That means thinking about what it's made from, what touches your skin, how it's packaged, how it reaches your door and what good we can create along the way.
We're not perfect, and we're not pretending one box of toilet paper will solve every environmental problem.
But we are committed to doing better, measuring our impact and being transparent about the progress we're making.
And every person who chooses Eco Cheeks becomes part of that progress.
You were going to need toilet paper anyway. Why not make your rolls count?
