]]>Forests aren't just about treesâthey're bustling ecosystems that keep our world alive. On International Day of Forests, let's remember how closely our choices are linked to their well-being. The UN proclaimed 21st March the International Day of Forests in 2012 to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all forests.
Consider the Amazon Rainforest, often hailed as the "lungs of the Earth." This expansive green canvas not only generates oxygen but also plays a pivotal role in climate regulation and supporting a rich variety of plant and animal species. However, rampant deforestation poses a significant threat to this delicate equilibrium, endangering our planet's health.
Did you know?
By choosing Eco Cheeks' tissue paper products, you're directly contributing to the preservation of forests, especially right here in Australia. With every purchase, you're sending a powerful message to the world that sustainability matters, and that together, we can make a difference.
At Eco Cheeks, our sustainability ethos goes beyond being a trend; it's who we are. That's why we make sure our bamboo fibres come from groves that are managed responsibly. By choosing renewable sources, we're doing our part to protect forests worldwide. From the grove to your home, each sheet of Eco Cheeks tissue paper shows our commitment to keeping things green.
Our journey begins in the bamboo groves, where diligent farmers nurture these magnificent plants with care and respect for the environment. Through sustainable harvesting practices, we ensure that only mature bamboo stalks are selected, allowing younger shoots to flourish and continue the cycle of growth.
Once harvested, the bamboo undergoes a meticulous process to transform it into the soft, luxurious chemical-free tissue paper you know and love.Â
Whether it's the Amazon or your bathroom, every sheet of tissue paper counts in preserving our planet. By picking eco-friendly tissue paper like Eco Cheeks offers, you're helping to protect these important habitats. Unlike conventional tissue paper crafted from wood pulp, our unbleached bamboo offers a sustainable alternative without skimping on quality. Bamboo grows faster than a sprinting cheetah, making it a guilt-free choice for our planet-loving patrons!
Did you know that bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth? Some species can shoot up as much as 80 cm in just 24 hours! This rapid growth rate means that bamboo forests can be replenished much quicker than traditional trees, helping to alleviate the pressures of deforestation. So, when you choose Eco Cheeks' unbleached bamboo tissue and toilet paper, you're not only pampering yourself with its luxurious softness but also contributing to the preservation of our precious forests.
So, how can you join the forest celebration? One of the easiest ways - just make a mindful decision to stop flushing trees down the toilet. When selecting your tissue paper products, whether you need toilet paper, tissues, or paper towels, Eco Cheeks has a variety of eco-friendly options to choose from. By opting for our products, you're not only helping the planet but also treating yourself to the luxurious feel of unbleached bamboo fibres.
But our commitment to sustainability doesn't end with our products â it extends to every aspect of our operations. From 99% paper free office, eco-friendly packaging materials to carbon-neutral shipping methods, we're constantly seeking new ways to minimise our environmental impact and promote a greener future.
Before we conclude our forest celebration, let's take a moment to reflect on the significance of the International Day of Forests. It's more than just a date on the calendarâit's a reminder of the urgency to preserve and safeguard our natural resources for future generations.

So, let's dive into one super-simple yet super impactful change: bamboo tissue paper! Swap out all your regular tissue needs - think toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels - for these eco-friendly wonders. Not only do you reduce your carbon footprint, but you also create a more pleasant bathroom experience and help pave the way for a greener tomorrow. Talk about wiping away waste in style!
One simple switch you can make in an eco-friendly office is opting to transition all tissue paper needs in the office to bamboo or recycled paper. Of course, bamboo is our choice as it grows incredibly fast, making it a renewable resource. Bamboo's remarkable growth rate allows for quicker replenishment, making it an eco-friendly choice of sustainable material. According to recent studies, bamboo can grow up to 35 inches in a single day, making it an incredibly renewable resource. Bamboo forests absorb more carbon dioxide and release more oxygen than other types of forests, contributing to climate change mitigation.
And it's not just about the environment; bamboo tissue papers are practical too! They're absorbent, durable, and preferred by many employees for their health and environmental benefits. According to a survey conducted by The Economist Intelligence Unit, thereâs a 71% rise in online searches for sustainable goods globally, and 71% of millennials prefer using sustainable materials, citing concerns about health and environmental impact. By switching to bamboo paper to make an eco-friendly office, businesses can not only meet employee preferences but also contribute to a healthier work environment.
In our pursuit of sustainability, Eco Cheeks offers unbleached bamboo tissue paper products that provide a safer and greener alternative for both your workplace and the planet. By steering clear of harmful chemicals, these products ensure a healthier option for everyday use in the office. Not to mention, their softness and reliability guarantee comfort and satisfaction with every wipe.
Moreover, our unbleached bamboo tissue paper products are biodegradable and compostable, meaning they naturally decompose over time without leaving behind any harmful residues.
By incorporating Eco Cheeks' unbleached bamboo tissue paper products into your office essentials, businesses aren't merely making a switch â they're embracing sustainability as a fundamental ethos. It marks a pivotal step towards cultivating a culture of environmental responsibility and leaving a positive imprint on our precious planet.
In addition to switching to bamboo products, these are other eco-friendly practices that you can try:Â
Natural, Toxic-Free Cleaning Products and Hand Soaps: Choose natural, non-toxic cleaning products and hand soaps to maintain a clean and healthy office environment. These products are not only better for the planet but also safer for employee health.
Creating an eco-friendly office space isn't just a trend â it's a commitment to making a positive impact on our planet while improving the well-being of everyone who sets foot in our workspace. Even the smallest actions, like switching to energy-efficient lighting or adding some greenery with indoor plants, can send ripples of change throughout tomorrow's environment.
Transitioning to bamboo tissue paper for all paper needs in the office, from tissues to toilet paper and paper towels, isn't just a smart move â it's a sustainable one. By making this strategic choice, businesses are taking a significant step towards reducing their environmental footprint and contributing to a healthier planet.
Together, through these small yet impactful steps towards sustainability, we're not only enhancing our own workplaces but also setting a shining example for others to follow. It's about fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and inspiring others to join us on this journey towards a greener future.
Let's keep working together, one eco-friendly choice at a time, to create a more sustainable world for generations to come.

One notable trend is the increasing preference for bamboo products.Â
Let's explore Australia's love affair with bamboo and its profound implications for a more sustainable future.
Australia's newfound enthusiasm for eco-friendly living shines through in the growing popularity of bamboo products, and bamboo toilet paper is leading the charge! According to a study by the University of Georgia, traditional toilet paper production is a significant contributor to deforestation, habitat loss, and biodiversity decline.Â
But here's where bamboo steps in: this fast-growing grass matures within three to five years, much quicker than the trees used for conventional toilet paper production. The rapid growth rate of bamboo makes it an environmentally sustainable alternative.Â
Research from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) underscores this point, highlighting that bamboo cultivation requires up to 30% less water compared to hardwood trees, thereby reducing water consumption in the production process. The increasing recognition of the environmental benefits of bamboo toilet paper among Australian consumers is evident in the 10% rise in sales in the past year alone, according to data from CleanLink.
Another star in the bamboo product lineup is bamboo tissues. These soft and durable alternatives are gaining popularity among Australian consumers for their gentle touch and eco-friendly properties.Â
An article by the The Grocer emphasizes the role of bamboo tissues in mitigating deforestation and preserving critical forest ecosystems. Studies by the Rainforest Alliance further highlight the environmental benefits of bamboo cultivation, including its ability to sequester significant amounts of carbon dioxide, thus contributing to climate change mitigation efforts.Â
As Australia's unique biodiversity faces unprecedented threats, the shift towards bamboo tissues represents a tangible step towards protecting the country's natural heritage.
Australians are also embracing bamboo-based products in their personal care routines, with bamboo toothbrushes, cotton swabs, and menstrual products offering biodegradable alternatives to their plastic counterparts.Â
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reports a steady increase in the demand for sustainable personal care products, driven by heightened environmental awareness among consumers. Research by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation underscores the importance of transitioning to circular economies, where resources like bamboo are reused, recycled, or composted, thus minimizing waste and maximizing value.Â
By integrating bamboo-based products for personal care into their routines, Australians actively participate in the global movement towards sustainable consumption and production.
The adoption of bamboo products in Australia has a tangible positive impact on the environment. By choosing bamboo-based products over traditional materials, consumers help reduce deforestation, conserve water resources, and minimize carbon emissions. Studies have shown that bamboo cultivation can sequester more carbon dioxide and produce more oxygen than equivalent stands of trees, further highlighting its environmental benefits.
Leading the charge in sustainable personal care is Eco Cheeks, offering a range of bamboo-based products, including toilet paper, tissues, and wipes. Their commitment to environmental responsibility is evident in their use of renewable bamboo resources, removal of harmful chemicals and minimal, plastic-free packaging. By choosing Eco Cheeks products, consumers not only reduce their environmental impact but also support a company dedicated to sustainability.
The increasing popularity of bamboo products reflects a broader shift towards eco-conscious living among Australians. With rising awareness of environmental issues, consumers are actively seeking products that align with their values. Social media platforms serve as catalysts for change, allowing individuals to share information and inspire others to make sustainable choices.Â
By opting for bamboo-based products, Australians can make a meaningful contribution to a greener future, one choice at a time. Each purchase of bamboo-based products represents a step towards reducing carbon footprints, conserving natural resources, and mitigating environmental degradation. As the demand for sustainable products continues to rise, the bamboo revolution in Australia holds promise for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of human-made chemicals that have gained significant attention due to their potential health and environmental risks. These substances, found in a wide range of consumer products, have been detected in unexpected places, including toilet paper. We'll get a little science-y with you, and delve into what PFAS are, where they come from, their health implications, and how they have been found in seemingly innocuous products like toilet paper.Â
Lastly, we took it unpon ourselves to have our toilet paper independently tested, to ensure product safety. You can see the details below.
What Are PFAS?
PFAS, short for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are a class of synthetic chemicals characterized by strong carbon-fluorine bonds. These bonds make PFAS highly resistant to heat, water, and oil, which has led to their use in various industrial and consumer applications. PFAS are further divided into two main subgroups:

]]>Bamboo toilet paper has been gaining popularity due to several potential environmental benefits. Here are some reasons why bamboo toilet paper is considered better than traditional tree-based toilet paper.
This is one amazing plant and we love it!! When we were looking for a material that was more sustainable than knocking down our forest, bamboo was hands down, the easy answer!
1. It is the fastest growing plant in the world â technically itâs a grass! Some species can grow 1.2m in a day. Bamboo regenerates and can be harvested year on year for up to 70 years. Trees on the other hand take 30-40 years to mature just once, then need to be replanted after being harvested.
2. Soft & strong! Donât let the colour fool you â this aint no finger poking sandpaper toilet paper! Bamboo fibers are long and strong, making it softer than many from recycled paper or wood fiber. âïžđȘđ»
3. Bamboo is naturally hypo-allergenic, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. Itâs a Super-plant! We think it needs a cape! đŠžđ»ââïž
4. It can be grown without pesticides or herbicides, as bamboo doesnât have any natural pests. Essentially meaning bamboo is organic! đ«đ±
5. Bamboo doesnât require any fertilizer.
6. Bamboo produces 30-35% more oxygen than trees. đł
7. It uses 30% less water than hardwood trees. đŠ
8. Unlike wood pulp, its dust free!Â
9. Helps to reduce deforestation (15% of deforestation is due to toilet paper production).
Need we say moreâŠ.?

]]>Sorry, but we wonât be having a Black, Green, or Brown sale this weekend - not this year, and not next year.
This is because we donât believe in the idea of consumers needing to make panic decisions, as time or stock is running out. We feel it can be a click frenzy of deep discounts (or perceived to be) urging us to âsaveâ by spending more.Â
Here are a few reasons why we donât feel the need to participate:
1. Our Business and Values
We may do little events throughout the year, but itâs based on our values and building a sustainable brand. Weâre not seasonal or impulsive, so weâre not going to convince people to buy more than they need. Thankfully toilet paper panic buying is behind us now, so we donât need to encourage toilet paper hoarding either.
Itâs what works best for our businessâs âbottom lineâ, and we would rather add value for the customer than simply slashing prices to move inventory.
2. Our products
We pride ourselves on making the most quality and sustainable toilet paper and tissue products, that we donât need to force people to buy with a discount. Our products are loved by our customers (just check out our reviews!), so we donât feel the need discount to sell.
3. Environmental impact
The increase in spending and consuming, means more products being manufactured and shipped worldwide. Black Fridayâs carbon footprint is huge! According to one report, Black Friday 2021 in the UK alone was expected to emit 386,243 tones of greenhouse gas emissions, equivalent to 215,778 flights between Sydney and London, or the same weight as 3,679 blue whales. WoeâŠ!
In addition to this, there is the waste of unwanted, unneeded clothes and items which were impulse bought, which just end up in landfill.
4. Slow-vember
We want to promote conscious and ethical consumption, which means thereâs no rush in making a purchase. Slow down, and weigh up if you need our products.
Our brand is about lightening our footprint as much as possible, and a big factor of this is reducing our consumption. Patagonia made a bold move publishing a full page ad saying âDonât Buy This Jacketâ about this exact thing. You can read about that here.
5. We donât want the stress
Selfishly, we donât want the stress of ensuring discount codes are working, websites arenât going to crash, overloaded customer service, and panic stations on Monday trying to fill as many orders as possible. Â Instead, we want to continue with the stability of our brand, and keep everyone sane and happy, rather than stressing over a short-term peak in sales.
And this is not to say other small, independent, and ethical brands offering discounts arenât doing the right thing. Each to their own, and we all need to do what fits with us and our values and we support whatever that looks like. Weâre also not saying, to not engage in these sales at all. If you need something, buy it, and try to buy the best version of it. But if you donât need it, donât buy it.Â
Our recommendation is to spend your money on experiences and making memories, rather than buying things. And remember we have the power as consumers to push for positive change with more than just our spending.
]]>Â
Have you ever thought about why the earth's climate is changing so drastically? Without any doubt, we human beings are part to blamed. Our lifestyle and demands have become a burden on the earth's shoulders.
As well as being stunningly beautiful, forests are vital for the health of our planet. They provide food and shelter for so much of life on Earth â from fungi and insects to koalas and tigers. Â
Deforestation means cutting down the trees of the forests to make room for something else, such as buildings and roads, livestock, industries or to be used for production. Â Â Globally, up to 15 billion trees are being cut down every year. Thatâs just not sustainable or smart â for wildlife, for people, or for the climate.Â
Australia is home to some of the most unique and magnificent nature in the world. The kind of natural beauty and uniqueness seen in Australia cannot be seen in any other part of the world. But unfortunately, we have put the wildlife as well as the natural beauty of Australia under threat.
Australia is one of the worst countries in the world for deforestation, and is the only developed country to make the World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) global list of deforestation hotspots. The main cause of this is land clearing for livestock, according to WWF conservation scientist Dr Martin Taylor. The species are threatened, and half of the forest covers have been cleared in the last years.
In Queensland alone in 2015-16, about 395,000 hectares of native vegetation were cleared. That might be hard to picture, but its around the size of Melbourne or Sydney. It is equivalent to 1,500 football fields cleared per day.
"In Queensland alone it's estimated 45 million animals were killed in 2015-16 because of bulldozing of forests - everything from geckos to cockatoos," Dr Taylor said.
When animals lose their habitat they die, they do not just move on and live happily ever after somewhere else. Sadly, the WWF estimates if we keep up with the rate of clearing, the koala will be extinct as early as 2050.
Forest loss and damage is the cause of around 10% of global warming. Thereâs simply no way we can fight the climate crisis if we donât stop deforestation.âŻâŻÂ We need to protect forests now more than ever.Â
Overpopulation is becoming an issue in the 21st century. There are not enough houses or land for people to live in, so we are clearing forests to make space. Â We demand a lot from the earth. We set up industries that harm the atmosphere by releasing toxic gases and to set up new industries, we tend to destroy nature in the process.
Forest fires are part of natural evolution, however with longer and more extreme dry seasons which is a result of climate change, forest fires are increasing.
Cattle ranching (the destruction of trees to create pasture for cattle) is reported to be by far the most significant driver of forest lost in Australia. It means that we as human we kill wild animals and wildlife to raise livestock. Worth noting that animals can live in a forest environment, and they do not need to be ranched.
This is one of the most significant contributors to deforestation. It is reported that 15% of all deforestation is just for toilet paper production, when toilet paper is used by only 30% of the worldâs population. We are literally flushing our forests down the toilet. The paper industry cuts down about 160,000 trees per day. We use toilet paper regularly in a tremendous amount without realizing how it is made and what it is doing to the planet.
The effects of deforestation on the planet are very sad for all of us. Trees purify water and air. Without them there is an increase of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, in particular the amount of carbon dioxide. Trees absorb and store carbon dioxide. If forests are cleared, or even disturbed, they release carbon dioxide.
Flooding and land erosion are other effects of deforestation on the planet. The water cycle overall has been disturbed, resulting in dryer soil and the incapability to grow crops.
About 70% of land animals live in our forests. We have contributed to the loss of their habitats and now many species are under threat.
Deforestation leads to the rise of deadly diseases that can destroy human health. Â The trees help clean the air and make it fresh and healthy for human beings to breathe in.
With deforestation increasing, people are becoming more prone to skin and respiratory diseases since the air is not clean anymore. Also, increasing earth temperature is affecting human health adversely.
In some countries, it has been understood that deforestation drives wild animals out of their natural habitats and closer to human populations, therefore creating a greater frequency of zoonotic disease spillover into people. In fact, EcoHealth Alliance research has shown that 31 percent of outbreaks of new and emerging diseases like Nipah virus, Zika, and Ebola are linked to deforestation.
Â
The problem is big, but as individuals there are many little changes, we can make that together, can make a big impact on our forests.
For instance, choose recycled or bamboo paper products and look for the FSC âtick-treeâ logo when you are shopping for wood-based products.Â
Make sure any palm oil in the products you buy is sustainably sourced â it may say RSPO on the label. Â
But surprisingly itâs our diet can have the biggest impact. If you havenât already, think about moderating the amount of meat you eat, perhaps considering it a weekend treat. Experiment with plant-based ingredients instead â there are plenty of new, innovative alternatives now. Â
A perfect replacement for traditional toilet paper is bamboo toilet paper. Yes, they are made of bamboo plant, but they are environmentally friendly and incredibly sustainable. Bamboo is actually a grass and grows over a meter a day and keeps regenerating after being harvested.Â
The good thing about this shift from traditional toilet paper is that the quality is not compromised, and the bamboo toilet paper is as soft as conventional toilet paper and hypoallergenic. Bamboo toilet paper is an easy switch and can work as a force to protect the world's trees and its wildlife.
Our health, our environment, our world: it is all connected.Â

]]>Vulva and vaginal health are an important part of a woman's overall health. Problems here are not only uncomfortable but they can affect fertility, sexual desire and ability to reach orgasm. Ongoing vaginal health issues can also cause stress, relationship problems and impact self-confidence.
Most people use the term 'vagina' when describing female genitalia. What they are actually referring to is the vulva.
The vulva is the general name given to the external parts of the female genitalsâthe parts you can see. It includes labia (the inner and outer lips), the clitoris, the urethral opening (the hole you pee out of), the anus (a.k.a butthole) and the vaginal entrance.
The vulva has a lot more going on than just the vagina, you could say itâs part of the âpackageâ.
The vagina is an elastic muscular canal that runs from the uterus (womb), connecting with the cervix through to the external opening. It allows for sexual intercourse, childbirth and is the passage for menstrual flow.

]]>Our modern living has become standard for products to be wrapped in packaging thatâs immediately thrown away. It has become normal to buy single-use products because they are convenient, and fast fashion because itâs affordable.
Whatâs the problem with plastics?Â
Two things, the toxicity and that it doesnât degrade. To produce plastics a massive amount of fossil fuels are used which pollute the atmosphere and contribute to climate change. When they say, ânothing lasts for everâ they were forgetting about plastics. Plastic doesnât degrade, instead what happens is that it breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces through the process of photodegradation. Upon exposure to ultraviolet light, plastics break down to tiny pieces, releasing any toxic chemicals that they might contain, into the environment.
This microplastic phenomenon poses a threat, not only to the marine ecosystem but also to human health. There is already evidence that microplastics are entering the human diet through the consumption of fish and other marine species which have ingested the plastic.
As you can see, after their use, plastics continue to wreak havoc on the environment, posing a serious threat to ecosystems, marine creatures, and human livelihoods. One of the best ways we can help with the reduction of plastic waste is to not use it at all. There are so many great ecofriendly alternatives out there. Here are some or our favourite ones.
For all the soft plastics you canât avoid, donât forget to collect them to be recycled separately. Unfortunately, these canât go into our curb side recycling bins, so to keep them out of landfill, collect them and take them to a Redcycle bin located at every Woolworths or Coles.
Have fun with becoming more aware of single use plastics and be proud of all the small changes you make in helping support this wonderful world.Â

]]>Ahhh Christmas⊠the season of giving! What a great time to treat your loved ones and treat the planet at the same time.
Whether it be stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, secret Santa or an extra sum-sum for someone special, donât leave your loved ones stuck with things theyâre not going to use. Put some thought in and give practical reusable gifts. Hereâs our pick on buying small Earth friendly goodies from Australian owned businesses, this Christmas.
1. Soy candles
Lift anyoneâs home with one of these gorgeous scented candles from @drifttradingco. With a clean, non-toxic burn. They have a huge range of fragrance blends to suit all moods and locations of the home. Using 100% natural soy wax which is sustainable, renewable and biodegradable. Lemongrass & sage is my pick but sticking with the theme they have a white Christmas fragrance available. One youâll want for your own stocking.
2. Bamboo toothbrush
Keep everyoneâs pearly whites beautiful and bright, whilst reducing plastic waste. They are perfect to slip into stockings. One of the best things about choosing bamboo toothbrush over plastic, is that you can compost the toothbrush when finished. Jump over to @zenify.earth for a these beauties with really cool pattern designs.
3. Reusable wine tumbler
Give the gift that keeps giving⊠well you must keep refilling it yourself, but you can use it over and over, and over again! Proving that sustainable is stylish, these reusable wine cups from @mstipsycups are sexy and in the hottest colours. Keeping drinks hot or cold longer and spill free. Treat yourself and get one too!
4. Reusable cutlery
Especially for those who eat takeaway regular, ensure theyâve got a set of these this Christmas. There are many options available with stainless steel, wood, bamboo or even corn and soybean. They can be foldable or include chop sticks, a straw and straw cleaner. We love the guys over at @lapanda. Their kit has everything you need, made from our favourite material bamboo and packed in a neat organic cotton pouch.
5. Reusable produce bags
Iâm sure youâve all got your reusable shopping bags, but has everyone got their reusable produce bags yet? This has been my favorite sustainable swap this year. You can get them in organic cotton or recycled PET bottles. My personal pick are the ones from @ecobits. Made from 100% rPET bottles, they come in packs of 4, in 3 different sizes. Super lightweight, strong and have a nice silky feel. I love these so much that when I have to pick something up last minute and donât have them with me⊠curse words literally come out! Â
6. ChocolateÂ
Whatâs Christmas if thereâs no edible treats!? If you can resist not eating these yourself, pop some delicate chocolates into stockings for guaranteed happy faces! The guys at @planet.cocoa have nailed sustainable and environmentally friendly as everything is vegan, ethically sourced and eco-conscious down to the packaging. Â
7. Safety razor
Here is another great way to help the planet and reduce plastic. Safety razors are stunning, plastic free and give you the closest shave. Ps â donât forget to order the blades (like I did)! Although a hard decision, we love the colourful selection available @prickle.free and while youâre there check out their other goodies. Everything they have are perfect stocking stuffers.
8. Beeswax Wraps
One of the easiest swaps we can all make is to start using reusable wraps instead of plastic wrap, and one of the best alternatives are beeswax wraps. We love what the Devine family who live off-grid have created at @bee_eco_wraps. Bespoke art work, GOTS certified organic cloth and a unique blend of natural ingredients create a malleable and sustainable wrap.
9. Reusable strawsÂ
âItâs just one plastic strawâ said 8 billion people. That a lot of plastic! This party season get everyone ditching the plastic and sipping sustainably with reusable straws. There are so many options! They can come in stainless steel, silicone, bamboo, reeds and sugar cane. Then there are different colours, sizes and lengths to suit your beverage of choice. For a huge range check out @activatedeco. Ps. The stainless steel ones are great in summer with cold drinks as the straws get super cold too!
10. Toilet rolls
Thanks to the virus that shall not be named, certain buzzwords like UNPRECEDENTED have seen an unprecedented spike in common usage. Just like 2020 has seen an unprecedented amount of attention on toilet paper. There is no other year like the present to be stuffing everyoneâs stockings with the already beautifully wrapped unbleached bamboo rolls from @eco.cheeks. Getting yourself a carton of 36 rolls means the perfect gift for your household and plenty to gift everyone from teachers, to neighbors, to your pets!Â
Extra bonus points â free wrapping paper! Reuse that beautiful paper, add a little tie and you have Christmas all wrapped up.
** BONUS â I could go on as, but I will stop at 11.
Small, slender and sleek is the good ol gift voucher. Perfect for stockings, popping in the mail and you donât have to tackle the crazy shopping centers. Just like 2020 is the year to gift toilet rolls, really treat someone with a gift voucher for their own carton⊠which as you could imagine, doesnât quite fit into a stocking. These are now available @eco.cheeks
Let me just start by saying, this kind of change is all about baby steps. Remember, lots of small changes can make a big difference. We all we want to protect your family and this wonderful world we live in, but when you dive in into this subject, itâs a rabbit hole. You start to realise there are nasties in just about everything. But thankfully, there are safer alternatives out there. Instead of 8 steps, I could write 888, but the purpose of this is to highlight some simple changes and first steps you can do to get ârollingâ towards toxic free living.
What is toxic free?Â
It means to be free from any natural or man-made poisons, that will have a negative impact upon our health.Â
Why try to be toxic free?
The way I see it, our body is a temple and our earth is a heaven â we need to take care of both! Itâs important to understand that the skin can absorb practically any particles that comes into contact with it, ending up in our bloodstream. Our world is full of hidden toxins, in our food, our products and in the air we breathe. Many are completely unnecessary and used to make cheap products, with long shelf lives, that generate big profits. Itâs unfortunate big companies and governments turn their backs to proven links between these ingredients and the major health issues of today such as cancer, autism, alzheimerâs, heart disease etc. But by taking things into your own hands, you can reduce your exposure, and reduce your risk of diseases. All at the same time as helping the planet. Winning!!
How do I live a toxic free life?
Education! Itâs very difficult to avoid all, unless youâre going to be fully self contained away from all human civilization, but even then, air pollutants travel. Start reading labels, making small changes and step by step we can clear the air and make safer home environments.
Some of these swaps can be an additional cost but do it gradually and know that itâs an investment into your & your familyâs wellbeing. Feel the joy and be proud in making better choices moving forward.
